Yes, there are currently laneway home incentives offered by the City of Toronto. The City wants you to build a laneway home and is offering two substantial financial incentives.
The first is the Development Charges Deferral Program, and the second is the Affordable Laneway Suites Program.
- Development levies are required to pay for additional infrastructure as density increases. The deferral program waives the fees for 20 years and all together forgives them if certain criteria are met.
- The Affordable Laneway Suites Program offers up to $50,000 on a forgivable loan to qualifying households.
